Description
24.2 MP stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor
From the world’s largest sensor manufacturer comes the fastest 35mm full-frame 24.2 MP stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor, which includes several features that contribute to incredible high-speed performance and outstanding image quality. Separate circuit and pixel layers allow for a significant increase in processing speed for the large volume of data that can also be temporarily stored in internal memory. The combination of this advanced sensor and evolved BIONZ X processing enables blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 20 fps with up to 60 AF/AE tracking calculations per second, silent vibration-free electronic shutter speeds up to 1/32000 sec, Anti-Distortion Shutter operation, and other capabilities that add up to unprecedented speed from a full-frame camera without interference from mechanical devices.Capture all the action at the highest speed. A combination of groundbreaking high-speed full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with integral memory and BIONZ X processor with DRAM enables incredible completely silent continuous shooting up to 20fps at full 24.2MP resolution in RAW+JPEG with continuous AF/AE (autofocus and auto exposure) tracking at 60 calculations per second3 and no EVF or LCD blackout. The extremely high readout speed of the Alpha 9 II Exmor RS sensor allows for autofocus and auto exposure (AF/AE) to be calculated up to 60 times per second3 and is virtually uninterrupted, both while composing the image and even upon releasing the shutter. You can depend on the continuous autofocus to lock onto and track erratically moving subjects with significantly high speed, precision, and reliability.Designed to improve the speed of news agencies workflow, the Alpha 9 II features a Voice Memo function that allows spoken information to be attached to images which can convey important information when sent to the editor. Voice memos up to 60 seconds in length can be recorded and attached as a WAVE file with the same name as the image file which can be transferred via FTP along with the corresponding image data without the need for additional equipment or software.
Transfer & Tagging add-on App
Voice memos can be read into the Transfer & Tagging add-on application and automatically converted to text captions in regions where Google services are available. The Transfer & Tagging add-on application can then automatically add the converted text to JPEG images in the form of IPTC metadata, or the text can be manually copied and pasted as required. When using the Transfer & Tagging add-on application to transfer images with attached voice memos from a smartphone to an FTP server, it is possible to select JPEG only or JPEG+WAVE for transfer.By combining the automatic voice to text conversion and text embedding functionality with the application’s ability to auto transfer images with attached voice memos via FTP, it is possible to automatically embed text information in images with attached voice memos that have been transferred from the camera to the smartphone and upload the results to an FTP server without having to operate the smartphone.
Created specifically to support working professionals in the fields of sports photography and photojournalism, the Alpha 9 II delivers unmatched performance including blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 20 frames per second with Auto Focus and Auto Exposure tracking at 60 calculations per second, plus continuous shooting at up to 10 fps with mechanical shutter. Evolved Artificial Intelligence autofocus with Real Time AF tracking for accurate image acquisition and built-in connectivity and file delivery for the professional’s workflow with file transfer over SSL or TLS encryption (FTPS) for increased data security.
